#110 – Kubo and the Two Strings and Redemptive Storytelling

On this episode of the Reel World Theology Podcast:

kubo001It seems like the films from Laika Studio fly under a lot of people’s radar, but also seem to be incredibly enjoyed by those who do see them (Coraline, Para Norman, The Boxtrolls). The latest, Kubo and the Two Strings has been a breath of fresh air in a Summer of forgettable animated movies. With incredible hand-crafted animation and a story that is not something we see very much, we not only are not engaged visually, but thematically. We definitely have a lot of fun picking this one apart.
